SCR Triggering Circuit Using 555 Timer

The single board trainer helps to study SCR Triggering circuit using 555 Timer.

The following experiments to be done :

• 1. Waveform at Load w.r.t change in Conduction Angle.
  2. Calculation of Conduction Angle.
  3. Measurement of Load Voltage and Load Current w.r.t. change in Conduction Angle.

The setup consists of :

• 1. AC Voltage Source : 12V @ 1Amp.
  2. Bridge Rectifier.
  3. Triggering Circuit using 555 Timer I.C.
  4. SCR.
  5. Lamp (small) Load : 12 V, 10 W.
  6. Digital AC Voltmeter : 0 – 20 V, 3 ½ digit Digital Display.
  7. Digital DC Ammeter : 0 – 2000 mA, 3 ½ digit Digital Display.

Additional Accessory Required :

• Dual Channel Oscilloscope
