D.C. Series or Shunt Motor Speed Control Trainer

The equipment helps to study the waveforms & plot of armature volt ( D.C ) vs  Speed & its control of a D.C. shunt wound motor using SCR.

The setup consists of :

• 1. ¼  H.P. D.C. Shunt Wound Motor.
  2. Thyristor Drive Circuit.
  3. Digital Voltmeter : 0 – 500 V DC, 3 ½ digit Display.
  4. Digital Ammeter : 0 – 5 Amp DC, 3 ½ digit Display.
  5. Different protection circuits.
     1. field failure.
     2. Start at minimum armature Current.
     3. Short circuit protection.
  6. Non Contact tachometer.
